The news hit Ben like a physical blow. His sanctuary, his safe haven, was about to be transformed. He thought of his neighbor, old Mr. Peterson. The two often talked about the old days. Ben felt a deep sense of…warmth when he thought about their chats.

He walked over to his neighbor's apartment. He saw the old man sitting on the porch. "Mr. Peterson," Ben started, his voice soft, "We need to talk."

He spent the whole afternoon with Mr. Peterson, listening to his stories and helping him understand the paperwork. He felt complete, and safe.
