The phone vibrated in her hand, the message from a friend, a link to the online article. Her fingers trembled as she clicked. The website, usually a source of mindless entertainment, now felt like a portal of doom. A biography, a so-called "candid portrait" of her life, was plastered across the screen.

She scrolled through the pages, each line a fresh stab. Her pulse hammered in her ears. The author, a blogger who had once interviewed her, had fabricated her past, her relationships, her aspirations. She felt sick, the feeling washing over her like a tidal wave.
