He found himself pacing, the cheap carpet of the IT department wearing thin under his relentless strides. His new desk was cluttered with wires and manuals, a stark contrast to the familiar order he'd cultivated in sales. The air in this new place felt stagnant, thick with the unspoken disdain he felt radiating towards his new boss.

His chest constricted. He imagined tearing the transfer papers to shreds, the satisfaction of making a mess. Every time the office door opened, he expected to see the smug grin of the VP who had orchestrated this entire fiasco.

"This is ridiculous," he muttered under his breath, his voice tight with an undercurrent of something volatile. He clenched his fists, struggling to keep his composure. He imagined burning down the whole building.
