Gemotions

The package was small, innocuous. But it was enough. "To Daniel," the label read. Daniel had vanished, leaving a trail of unpaid debts and broken promises. He hadn’t even bothered to take his junk mail off the mailing list. The utter lack of consideration was appalling.

He felt a throbbing ache behind his temples. He gripped the edge of the kitchen counter, needing to steady himself. Every muscle in his body felt tense, wired. He’d worked all day, and this… this was the last straw.

He walked over to the package and picked it up. He tossed it into the fireplace. It was probably just bills, anyway. He struck a match, and watched the paper ignite.
