Gemotions

He re-read the notice. The scholarship he had painstakingly earned, denied. It was as if someone had punched the air from his lungs. He sat, stunned for a long moment, the silence of his room amplifying the turmoil within.

He pushed away from his desk. He felt a physical pressure building in his chest. He paced, back and forth, the floorboards groaning beneath his restless feet. The walls seemed to be closing in.

He picked up a nearby pen, twisting it in his fingers until it snapped in two, the plastic shards scattering across the desk. He needed to channel this, had to do something. He grabbed his keys, and with a muttered curse, he headed for the gym.
