Gemotions

The air in the library felt thick and heavy, like the oppressive feeling that now consumed Eleanor. They hadn't liked it. The years she'd spent crafting her masterpiece, the painstaking research, the sleepless nights – all for nothing. She wanted to throw the letter across the room, to scream until her voice was hoarse. Instead, she buried her face in her hands, the scent of old paper and ink failing to soothe her. She pushed out of her chair, her legs unsteady, and moved, unthinking, towards the exit.
