"Unbelievable." Ben muttered the word under his breath, clicking the "unfollow" button. He'd never felt a need to have a confrontation with Ms. Peterson, his physics teacher. The woman had always seemed a bit detached, almost ghostly.

Now, her digital presence on his Instagram made him feel sick. He wanted to throw his phone across the room. The air in his bedroom felt thick, heavy. He took a deep breath, trying to calm down.

He imagined her scrolling through his feed, judging his taste in music, his questionable fashion choices, the selfies where he'd maybe *slightly* exaggerated his biceps. His jaw clenched. He’d leave a passive-aggressive comment on one of her posts, a carefully worded barb.
