The tiny apartment felt oppressively small, the air thick with unspoken resentment. Leo, face flushed, ran a hand through his already messy hair. His brother, who was supposed to be helping him move, had bailed, leaving him to struggle with heavy boxes alone.

He jabbed at his phone, intending to send a biting text to his brother, expressing his utter contempt for the situation. A litany of insults poured from his fingertips. But in a moment of carelessness, he tapped his boss's name.

He froze, his fingers still hovering over the send button. His boss, who already thought he was unreliable. This wouldn't help. He deleted the message, the relief short-lived as the anger returned tenfold.
