Gemotions

The vibrant green leaves, the rustling branches…all gone. The place where the plum tree had lived, now reduced to a stump, looked so wrong. A wave of nausea washed over her. She gripped the cold trunk as if holding onto something that she was losing.

She felt a tremor run through her body. Her breath came in ragged gasps. The air seemed thin, insufficient. She wanted to lash out, to inflict the same pain she felt.

She imagined the person who did this, imagined their smug satisfaction. The thought fueled her, feeding the internal fire. She wanted them to feel the same… the same… devastation.
