Liam was pacing. Back and forth across the threadbare rug in his cramped apartment. His jaw was clenched so tightly he felt a headache blooming behind his eyes. He’d just found out his father, a man he'd spent years idolizing, had another family. Another *son*. Anger, a hot coal, burned in his chest. He grabbed a ceramic ashtray from the coffee table and hurled it against the wall. The shattering sound offered no relief. He picked up his phone, scrolling through his father's contact information. He wanted to call, to scream. He wanted to do something, anything, to release the pressure building inside. He shut the phone off instead. He would not give his father the satisfaction.
