Gemotions

The bus rumbled forward, but for Elias, the world seemed to tilt and sway. The diagnosis hung over him like a suffocating blanket. He felt a burning in his chest, a need to lash out, to punish something, anything.

He focused on the man in front of him, chewing gum with loud smacks. He wanted to scream at him, tell him to stop. He wanted to throw him out of the bus window.

He clenched his fists, forcing himself to breathe deeply. He needed to get off. The stop couldn't come soon enough. The air was thick with the scent of desperation, and it was hard to ignore the feeling that he was going to explode.
