The slam of the garage door echoed in the otherwise silent street. Amelia emerged, ready to face the day, only to be met by a cold, hard reality. Her minivan, the lifeline of her family, was gone. Panic momentarily flared, followed by a heavy, overwhelming sense of futility.

She felt a wave of nausea, a physical manifestation of her emotional state. Her shoulders slumped; her steps were slow and deliberate. The world seemed to be closing in, suffocating her with its burdens.

She retreated back inside, the day's tasks looming like insurmountable mountains.
