Gemotions

The news had hit her like a physical blow. She sat at her desk, staring at the computer screen, the cursor blinking mockingly. Work was meaningless now, and her fingers lingered over the keys, unable to type.

She felt a hollowness in her chest, a void that seemed to swallow everything. Her colleagues’ laughter, the usual office chatter, seemed distant and muffled. She wanted to scream, to lash out, but the emotion remained trapped, lodged in her throat.

She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. Then, she opened a new document, and began to write.
