He found himself wandering aimlessly, drawn by some unseen force to the darkened windows of "Mama Rosa's." The pizzeria had been his sanctuary, his happy place. He felt it deep in his chest.

The window reflected his own pale face, framed by the vacant storefront. He imagined the aroma of baking bread and melting cheese, the sounds of laughter and conversation – all of which were now just ghosts.

He remembered sharing his first date with his wife here, the awkward smiles, the nervous chatter. Now, that memory, usually a source of warmth, felt like a distant, faded photograph. His throat tightened, and he fought back a wave of emotion.
