The hotel room felt like a cage. James stared out the window at the rain-swept cityscape, the vibrant lights blurring into a meaningless spectacle. A knock. A woman stood there, her hands clasped tightly. "Are you… James?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper. She looked exhausted, as though she hadn't slept in days. "I think we've both been… misled." She showed him a text. It was from the person they both thought was theirs.
