The news hit her hard. The vibrant colours of the world seemed to have dulled. The sounds of the city felt distant.

She wandered aimlessly through her apartment, stopping in front of the window, and stared at the park across the street. Even the simple tasks, like brushing her teeth, seemed impossibly difficult.

She touched her chest and it felt like there was a huge stone in there. She turned away from the window, and reached for a blanket. She felt cold.
