Gemotions

The concert hall buzzed with anticipation. Sophia sat in the back row, the music a muted drone. Her experimental compositions, once played only in small, intimate settings, were now being performed by a renowned orchestra without her permission. Her work had been repackaged and sold. She didn't want any of this.

Her fingers fidgeted in her lap, her throat tight with an unnameable emotion. The applause that followed each movement felt wrong, a superficial validation that left her cold. Her thoughts were clouded, unable to make sense of the situation.

She watched the conductor, the musicians, the audience, and felt utterly removed from it all. She felt nothing. She slipped out unnoticed, the music a receding memory in the echoing silence of the night.
