Gemotions

The morning had started poorly, and the rest of the day had followed suit. Everything felt…muted. The doorbell chimed, and a woman stood holding a bouquet of assorted wildflowers. No note attached.

He took the flowers, a strange mixture of joy and pain coursing through him. He set them on the kitchen table, the untamed beauty somehow out of place.

He paced the room, the vibrant colours a painful reminder of what he had lost. He felt…lost. The world felt dull, grey, and he was alone to face it.
