Gemotions

The concert hall blared music, but it felt silent to David. The lights, the colours, the sounds, all seemed to bounce off him, leaving him untouched. He sat beside his date, Emma, who was singing along to the music with wild abandon. David felt detached, like an observer in his own life. Everything felt like a performance. He didn't know how to feel.

During the encore, a woman ran on stage. "David!" she yelled.

Emma looked over at him.

"You said you were single!" the woman said.

David just looked at the ground.
