The crisp autumn air did little to soothe Arthur's nerves as he stood on the manicured lawn. The lawyer, a woman with a stern demeanor, had just read the will. Arthur’s sister, Beatrice, practically vibrated with excitement. "Beatrice, the family’s shipping empire, complete with ships, docks, and global contracts." Beatrice was already talking about transatlantic voyages and future investments.

Arthur felt a knot twist in his stomach, a physical manifestation of his discontent. He was a writer, a dreamer, not a businessman.

"And Arthur," the lawyer stated, her voice flat, "you inherit the family’s library, including the original manuscripts and all associated royalties.” A hollow sensation washed over him. He found himself wanting to disappear, to melt into the shadows and vanish. His brother was getting adventure; he was getting books.
