Gemotions

The air conditioning in his old bedroom barely worked, and he was drenched in sweat. He shifted uncomfortably on the twin bed, the springs digging into his back. The faded posters of rock bands, once a source of rebellious pride, now seemed juvenile and pathetic.

His phone buzzed. It was a text from a former colleague, asking how the job hunt was going. He quickly turned it off. He didn’t want anyone from his old life to know the situation he was in. His parents had been kind, so far, but the pitying looks were starting to get to him.

He was the guy who had to move back in with his parents.
