Gemotions

The screen was the only light in the otherwise dim hallway. He'd forgotten his phone again. She picked it up, her fingers trembling. The calls, all from the same number, all at unusual times. The familiar scent of his cologne suddenly felt repulsive.

She felt a deep, pervasive feeling of isolation, as if she were suddenly alone in the world. A bitter taste filled her mouth. A strange sensation, like something important had broken. The phone fell from her hand, the sound echoing in the stillness.
