The afternoon sun streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah stood frozen, staring at a stack of composition books. Her mother had proudly announced the discovery of her "literary treasures."

Sarah felt a surge of frustration she couldn't control. The books held a chronicle of her teenage years: bad poetry, terrible short stories, and diary entries filled with drama. Her private thoughts, now on display. She felt exposed, vulnerable, as if everyone could see the awkward, insecure girl she used to be.

Her mother's voice, full of happy memories, sliced through her internal turmoil. "I remember this poem! It was so moving." Sarah’s pulse quickened. She felt a cold sweat break out on her forehead.
