The rhythmic click-clack of the keyboards in the legal department was a familiar comfort to Robert. Now, he was moving to the sales team. The sheer energy of the sales floor, its aggressive optimism, felt alien and overwhelming.

He shuffled awkwardly through the crowded office, the cheerful greetings from the sales team felt like a loud, unwelcome chorus. He found his new desk, a small, cluttered space in the corner. He set down his belongings, his face reddening as a senior salesman clapped him on the back with excessive enthusiasm. He felt smaller.
