Gemotions

The request came during a rare, quiet moment of reflection. He was scrolling through his feed when it appeared: a friend request from Lisa, his tormentor from elementary school. A cold wave washed over him. He felt his hands begin to shake.

He immediately turned off his phone, as if that would erase the digital ghost. He went to the kitchen and made a cup of tea. He found he couldn’t drink it. He couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched, judged, and ridiculed. He thought of all the times he had cried himself to sleep and then wished he could forget.
