The radio announcer’s voice, cheerful and oblivious, spilled out of the speakers as she drove home from work. "...and a big shoutout to Rocco's Pizzeria, closing its doors after twenty-five fantastic years!" She slammed on the brakes, the car screeching to a halt at the red light.

Her chest constricted. Rocco's. Her family's Sunday dinner tradition. Her heart pounded in her chest, a frantic rhythm against her ribs. She gripped the steering wheel so tightly her knuckles turned white. She wanted to scream. She wanted to rewind the broadcast. She wanted to somehow magically fix it.
