Gemotions

The sun glinted off the shiny surface of a child's plastic slide. Then, tucked away in a corner, amongst a pile of broken toys, she saw *it*. A familiar, faded face. A flood of emotions washed over her, making her heart pound. She felt an incredible pressure building inside her chest.

“How much for the teddy bear?” she asked, her voice strained. The man running the yard sale, his face weathered by the sun, shrugged. “Fifty cents. That one’s seen better days.” She felt her cheeks burn. She paid the fifty cents and took the bear, quickly walking away.
