The light from the disco ball seemed to taunt her, casting dancing shadows that seemed to amplify the already unbearable tension in the room. I felt a surge of heat rush up my neck, turning my skin a fiery red. I'd been happily describing the bespoke dance lesson I'd taken with him, oblivious to the fact that the woman across from me had received the same gift.
