Gemotions

The old music box chimed a tinny tune, its melody grating on her nerves. The melody was the theme song of a kid's show she had watched religiously as a child. Her brother, Daniel, was rummaging through the attic, oblivious to the fact that she was currently suffocating from the embarrassment.

"Look at this!" he yelled, holding up a collection of her old, childish drawings. She wanted to vanish.

Daniel was now waving one of her pictures around, a crude crayon portrait of a cat. She could feel the heat creeping up her neck and spreading across her face.

"Remember this, Lily?" he asked.

"Please, Daniel," she began, but she found the words unable to come.
