Gemotions

The metal walls seemed to shrink, closing in on her. Her chest felt tight, constricted. She kept replaying that one time she accidentally walked into him, spilling her coffee all over his brand-new suit. The memory burned, a constant, throbbing ache.

She avoided eye contact, staring resolutely at her hands. She couldn't believe this was happening. It was the absolute worst possible scenario.

"This is… awkward," he finally said, his voice flat.

She nodded miserably, unable to find the words to respond. The thought of the story he would tell their coworkers once they got out made her want to disappear.
