Gemotions

I blinked, re-reading the email several times, hoping it would magically transform into a different message. It didn't. Instead, a wave of heat flushed across my face, followed by a sudden chill that made me shiver. I felt a terrible pressure in my chest, a feeling of being suffocated, as if the air had been sucked out of the room.

My carefully curated online persona, the one of the confident and successful student, seemed to crumble around me. My carefully planned future was now uncertain, leaving me feeling exposed and vulnerable. I was afraid to even look at my phone.
