Gemotions

The blueprints were laid out across the dining room table. Sarah circled the proposed fence line, her finger tracing the dotted path, the corners of her mouth turned down. It was a perfectly straight line, a sharp boundary. She reread the notes again and again, but the reasoning wasn’t there. She knew the neighbors – Mr. and Mrs. Gable – and they’d never mentioned it. She wondered if the plans were accurate. She rubbed her eyes and sighed. Something about the whole thing felt off, like a puzzle with a missing piece.
