Gemotions

The fluorescent lights seemed to hum, amplifying the silence. The new employee, whose name was Jessica, sat across from him. He was a veteran, a fixture in the office, and now… he was the one training her.

He felt a curious sensation, as if his perception of reality had been altered. He felt as though he was watching himself from outside. He struggled to maintain eye contact.

He gestured vaguely at the computer screen. “Alright… so… the first thing is…” His voice faded. He could not find the right words. He felt suddenly, inexplicably, lost.
