Chef Anya, usually the picture of calm, found herself snapping at the sous chef. She knew, rationally, that the review shouldn't affect her. She'd been a chef for fifteen years. She knew the game. Yet, the critic's words had shaken her to her core. Her hands fidgeted as she walked around the kitchen. She felt a strange tingling in her jaw, a sensation she couldn't explain. She opened the walk-in cooler, the frigid air doing nothing to calm her. The vibrant colors of the fresh vegetables seemed to mock her.
