He’d always loved old houses, with their secrets and hidden passages. But this… this felt different. Liam, crouched in the crawl space beneath the kitchen, felt a chill despite the stifling heat. He ran his hand along the rough stone wall, searching for the source of the persistent draft he'd been feeling. His fingers brushed against something, a subtle indentation. He tugged, and the wall groaned inwards, revealing a narrow doorway.

He hauled himself through the opening, into a space that seemed to swallow the light. A wooden chest sat in the middle of the room, its metal bands rusted and worn. He approached cautiously, his brow furrowed. What was this place?

The hair on the back of his neck stood on end. He felt a deep sense of disorientation. The air hung heavy, charged with an invisible energy.
