Gemotions

The flickering candlelight cast dancing shadows on the walls as Emily read in her bed. She selected a worn copy of a Victorian novel. As she cracked open the spine, a small, dried flower, a forget-me-not, and a carefully folded map slipped out.

The map, drawn in faded ink, depicted a winding path through a local park, ending at a spot marked with a small "X." The sight caused an involuntary gasp to escape her lips. A sense of unease filled her. Why this place? Why this map? She felt an urge to follow its directions, a curiosity she could not explain.
