He stared at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. The wallet lay on the sink, casting a long shadow. He’d found it in the park, right next to a park bench. It seemed a cruel trick. The amount inside was astounding. His mind was racing, a whirlwind of thoughts and anxieties.

He splashed cold water on his face, hoping to clear his head. But the image staring back at him was clouded with doubt, worry, and a profound sense of the unknown. He ran his hands through his hair, the gesture doing little to alleviate the knot of uncertainty that had taken root in his stomach. The man in the mirror was a stranger, just like the money.
