He watched the crew from the far side of the road, the scene unfolding like a slow-motion film. He felt a sharp pang in his chest, a sensation he couldn't name, a feeling that ran deeper than simple sadness. The house, a repository of his childhood, was about to be reduced to dust and debris.

He felt a deep sense of disorientation. His memories, once clear and vibrant, now seemed to shimmer and fade. The world seemed to tilt. He closed his eyes, then opened them again, trying to regain his footing, to make sense of the strange, unsettling discombobulation that had seized him. He didn’t understand why he felt so... lost.
