Gemotions

Eliza walked into her kitchen and saw the two cards taped to the refrigerator door. One proclaimed, "Noah's Nautical Night!" The other, "Grace's Glamorous Garden Gala!" Her brow furrowed. She felt as though the world had suddenly tilted on its axis.

She poured herself a glass of water, her hand trembling slightly. She wanted to sit, but instead began to pace. Why? What was the reason for this sudden clash? The water sloshed dangerously in the glass.

She touched one of the cards, then the other. They felt the same. Both friends, both birthdays, both the same day. It was as if a glitch had occurred, creating a duplicate.
