Gemotions

The estate sale was a treasure hunt. James, a history enthusiast, was particularly excited. He stumbled upon a box of old photographs, tucked away in the back of a cabinet. The photographs showed his grandfather, a man he always knew as a stoic, hardworking farmer.

The man in the pictures was dressed in a military uniform, surrounded by soldiers. He was smiling, laughing, seemingly at ease. This contradicted the stories James had always been told.

James leaned against the wall, his head swimming. His grandfather had never spoken of war, never mentioned anything beyond the farm. He felt a deep pull, a need to know more, a need to understand.
