“Hey, did you see who followed me?” Jack asked, his voice hushed. He and his friend, Alex, were sitting on the steps of the school after soccer practice. Alex glanced at his phone, a puzzled expression crossing his face. “Mr. Thompson, right? What the heck?” Jack felt a surge of unease. Mr. Thompson, the gym teacher, known for his stern demeanor and sharp eyes. He had a small collection of photos: candid shots of him on the soccer field, a few gym workouts. Jack thought to himself, “What is he expecting?”
