He’d been aimlessly browsing the internet, wasting time, when the address sprang out at him. "21 Green Street." His childhood home. The site seemed to taunt him.

He clicked. The images showed a remodeled version, all clean lines and minimalist design. The familiar layout was still there, but everything was different.

A strange tightness filled his throat. He sat there, staring at the pictures, feeling a curious bewilderment. He couldn’t explain the sensation. It was his house, but it was like looking at a dream, or perhaps a hallucination. He felt utterly confounded.
