Sweat beaded on David's forehead. He stared at the screen, heart hammering against his ribs. The code – his code – was there. Lines of it, almost identical to what he'd been pouring over for weeks, were displayed on the other programmer's monitor. The air in the server room felt thick, heavy. He swallowed hard, his throat dry. "That's… remarkably similar," David croaked, his voice barely a whisper. The other coder just shrugged, a half-smile playing on his lips as he nonchalantly adjusted his glasses. He seemed completely unfazed.
