Gemotions

The boy, Leo, stared at the plastic container in his hands. He'd found it while exploring the abandoned forest behind his house. It was buried near an ancient tree. He had no clue why. He sat down, legs crossed, and opened the container.

Inside, he found a drawing he’d made, a small toy car, and a crumpled letter. He recognized his own handwriting, the style of letters that he used to write. The letter was addressed to himself. He unfolded the paper, and read the words.

The words were full of the plans that he’d had, the people he had hoped to see, the dreams he had made. The boy was confused as he looked at the words, and his face took on a frown as the letter came to an end. Why didn’t he remember writing this?
