Gemotions

The waiting room was an assault on Thomas's senses. The bright fluorescent lights seemed too intense, the polished floors reflecting everything. He kept clearing his throat, a habit he usually managed to suppress, but today, it was constant. Across the room, David was casually leaning back in his chair, seemingly unconcerned. Thomas felt a knot tighten in his gut.

He ran a hand through his already-messy hair. He had spent hours preparing for this interview, researching the company, practicing his answers. But now, all the information seemed to have evaporated from his brain. He felt a prickly sensation under his skin, as if every pore was on high alert.

The secretary called, "Thomas Miller?" He jumped slightly, his hand flying up to his chest.
