Gemotions

The silence in the apartment was deafening, the only sound the gentle whir of the refrigerator. I stood by the door, trying to make out the muffled sounds coming from the bedroom. My mind felt like a whirlwind of thoughts, a dizzying array of possible scenarios. I could feel the blood rushing in my ears. I’d seen the calls, the deleted logs, the furtive glances.

I felt a sudden need to flee, to escape the oppressive feeling that was building inside me. My breath hitched in my chest. I felt frozen.
