The email arrived like a poisoned dart. "Your deepest thoughts revealed…" it taunted. Sarah, a name from the past, was also the sender. Her reply to the group chat only said, "Guess we weren't as safe as we thought we were!"

Her mouth felt dry, sticky. She closed her laptop, but the words were already branded onto her retinas. A chill crept down her spine, despite the afternoon sun streaming through her window. Sunlight felt like a mocking presence in her bedroom.
