He stared at the computer screen, the words blurring before his eyes. It was like a dam had burst inside him. Suddenly, everything felt amplified, from the scent of the freshly brewed coffee to the sound of the traffic outside. He could feel the pulse in his temples.

He stood up, shoving the chair back with a loud scrape. He began to pace the small confines of his apartment. He felt like a caged animal. Every step felt measured and deliberate.

His diary, once a safe haven, was now a public spectacle, and every thought, every feeling he’d poured onto those pages was now open for judgment. He was naked in a crowded room.
