He poured himself a glass of water, his hand shaking so violently that some of it spilled. The article was a monster, growing with every refresh. He took a long, slow drink, trying to calm the rapid beat of his heart.

He couldn’t believe this was happening. He’d lived his life, hidden away. Now, everything was on display. His stomach churned. He walked to the window and stared out at the street.

The world seemed indifferent, oblivious to the storm raging inside him. It was a terrifying thought. He set the glass down and sat on his bed, the silence of the room amplifying his anxiety.
