"Don't screw this up," Leo muttered to himself. His voice was a thin whisper, barely audible above the general office din. He was heading over to the customer service department, and the prospect of dealing with dissatisfied people was not a pleasant one. He found himself tapping his foot rapidly as he waited for the elevator.

The elevator doors opened. He stepped inside and pressed the button for the 3rd floor. The ride felt interminable. He gripped the handrail as if his life depended on it.

He imagined the scenarios. He rehearsed responses. His throat felt tight. He dreaded the phone calls, the emails, the potential confrontations.
